Dr. Kriss Kemp-Graham

Dr. Kemp-Graham has taught in higher education for over two decades. She is currently a Full Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership at Texas AM University-Commerce, teaching in the Masters Principal Preparation Program and in the doctoral program with students pursuing advanced degrees in Education Administration. Dr.Kemp-Graham currently serves as a dissertation chair to 4 students. Some of her courses she teaches are: leadership for culturally responsive schools for administrators, program evaluation, Urban school leadership, trauma informed leadership and intro and advanced statistics. Her research interests include middle school leadership, school leader cultural competence, academic achievement of children in foster care, turn- around schools, urban school leadership and disproportionality in student discipline, rural school challenges, trauma informed leadership, and school pushout of African American girls. In addition to teaching, Dr. Kemp-Graham is dedicated to serving the university community.  She is a member of the University IRB board, a Title IX Level Two Civil Rights Investigator, a member of the University Hearing and Appeals Board. In serving her professional community, she serves as the Editor of the School Leadership Review Journal published by the Texas Council of Professors of Educational Administration. Dr. Kemp-Graham has served in the leadership capacity of organizations external to Texas AM Commerce, her most recent appointments are President of the Boley Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc and Executive Director of Education and Special Programs and Initiatives at the Dynamic Dance Studio located in Wewoka, OK.
